Hi. In november 2015 I had a thoracic mri done for chest burning, severe back pain , and muscle weakness. The scan found a t2 hyperintensity within the thoracic cord at t4-t5 level. Also it noted several other areas of hyperintensity in the same area consistent with hemmorhage. It also noted the bleeding was inter medullary. I saw a neurosurgeon and have been under the care of a neurologist. They have ruled out tumors, avm's, ms, and other auto immune disorders. My neurologist said it could be transverse myelitis but she wasn't definitely sure. it has been almost a year and they still can not explain what had cause the initial bleed. However, the only lasting effects is irritation in my rib cage area (right side) accompanied by goosebumps, and muscle tone loss in arms and chest, which i have been improving by body building. About two weeks ago i had to go to the er with bad back pain in the same area cough and dizziness. Another mri revealed a thin irregular t2 hypointense signal between t3 and t5 . I was diagnosed with pneumonia. Now my question is that the mri findings said the area of intensity which originally was "expansile in nature" has evolved. So if it went from hyperintense to hypointense is it healing? Thank you for your time
