Hi, I've Been Diagnosed With Sciatica And Mild Arthritis In

Hi, I've been diagnosed with sciatica and mild arthritis in my left hip and leg. I have been prescribed Vicodin and even percacete when needed for the pain, which is very severe at times. The above mentioned pills do not kill the pain sometimes, nor do I want to take these meds unless OTC pain killers don't do the job. I also have been prescribed gabapetin and I have acyclovir left over from the shingles in the fall of last year. Would acyclovir be better for me than gabapentin? The doctor also put me on prednesone for 10 days and half way through the hip pain went away. But that is a scary drug. Is there something like prednesone that's safer. This pain have been pretty non-stop for the last 15 months.
