Hi I've Been Experiencing A Kind Of Tearing Pain Below

Hi I've been experiencing a kind of tearing pain below where my ribs cage is on the left side. I also have some left shoulder pain. The pain is not constant but comes on suddenly. The pain in my shoulder doesn't hurt at the same time as the pain below my ribs. Any ideas?
