Hi I've Been Using Dettol To Clean An Infection From

Hi I've been using dettol to clean an infection from stretching my ear with a spacer. I've been using it for a couple of days now and it seemed to be working but just now I've taken it out for the first time and cleaned inside the wound and now have a terrible burning sensation? What do i do? I can't seem to find any other situations like this....
