Hi I've Had A Cold For Like Maybe Five Days...coughing

Hi I've had a cold for like maybe five days...coughing up phlem nothing unusual out of a cold but now it's getting worse. I have a scratchy feeling when I inhale and exhale. No pain but it's like phlem that won't loosen even with medication like mucinex. Any suggestions?:(
