Hi,
I've had two THR's, my left 10 days ago. On the X-ray it shows two screws and one protrudes into what I can see is my pelvic bone.
The imaging interpretation states 'There are bilateral total hip replacements in-situ which are anatomically aligned. Medial screw of the left THR appears to protrude through the medial acetabular cortex by 3mm. No periprosthetic fracture or lucency.'
I've been googling but can't find any information, only thesis that is medical jargon. My post-op check with the surgeon is not for another 4 weeks, but I'm beginning to feel concerned. I'm 32 and would like to start trying to fall pregnant in about a years time.
What are the effects of having this screw protruding through the bone?
Thank you for your time,
Caitlin
