Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 3month (2 months and 4th week running) old daughter is not gaining enough weight. She is 4.95 kgs and her birth weight was 3.34 kgs. She lost weight in intial 10 days after birth due to low supply of milk and may be due to mild jaundice also. She took 3 weeks to regain her birth weight and that too she was supplemented with top feed. She has gained only 200gms in last 15 days. Since milk supply seems adequate now, I have stopped feeding her with top feed (given occasionally only). She spitts out lot of uncurdeled and curdeled milk. Can this be a reason for her slow weight gain. Paeditrician suggested to give perinorm drops for 4 days twice a day to reduce this spitting out of milk. Is it safe to give perinorm drops and will it affect weight gain of baby? Otherwise she is active. Please advice.
Thanks Manisha
