My Dad has been diagnosed with MDS recently. Severe anemia and blood clots in legs. We opted out on Chem because he wss so week in the beginning. We decided to have lab draws once a week and if his levels were below 8 we would have blood. Well last time he had blood infused he started to vomit and was admitted for a heartattack.
Then while in Hospital he had another infusion and has chest pain.. has not blood been determined if he had ankther. Results pending!
My question is how long can you contiue with the infusion before you need deliberate on other options? Or does this somehow says that we are getting close to no other options other Than pallative care? What other options do we have!? 20 + years of drug a use, alcohol and current smoker. 60 years of age. History of blood clots, and high cholesterol?
