Hi! My Mother Has Been Sick Since Tuesday And Is

Hi! My mother has been sick since Tuesday and is not getting better. She has been running a fever for almost 36hrs. She has had 3 back surgeries in the past 5 years, which included fusing her L5 all the way to her Si joints, and has been under anesthesia over a day with all of her surgeries combined. I am thinking this is why she has caught influenza a lot worse than I did. At least she is showing the signs of it. Which are, Fever* or feeling feverish/chills, cough, sore throat, muscle or body aches, and fatigue. Monitoring her, Wednesday, she had chronic back pain, which she had not experienced since her most recent recovery of back surgery, about 4 to 5 months ago. We have her on some Ibuprofen 800mg started Wednesday afternoon. That brought her fever down a little but still enough not to be normal. This also helped her back pain. Thursday and today she has really been tired and fatigued. My brother and his fiancé are EMT's, and in Paramedic school currently. They came by this morning and gave her 2 iv bags. She took the fluids, which didn't change her state. She also has bad diarrhea. She is on her way to emergency care, but with what i described, can you explain any other options that might be affecting her?
