Hi, My Name Is David, A 40 Years Old Male,

Hi,
My name is David, a 40 years old male, just three weeks ago diagnosed with 9x9x10mm Nasopalatine Duct Cyst behind teeth no 11 & 12. I have a consultation with a Maxillofacial Surgeon about the removal of the cyst. I got scared when he told me that most of his patients have lost the sensory around the area permanently. I do not know what will be the extend of the numbness, will it trouble me with my speech, causing needle/tingling/burning, etc. Also the Surgeon also said that it may numb my teeth.

From what I had read on Google, it says only around 10% would experience the paresthesia from the procedure where the Surgeon stated the opposite. I am schedule to have it remove on Wednesday next week, but I do not feel comfortable doing it with these outstanding questions. I tried to ask the Surgeon about these, but I was overwhelmed with negative thoughts.

Will there be any Doctors here kind enough to give me any inputs/thoughts?

Thank you.
Regards,

David
