Hi, My Vision Has Changed Rapidly Over The Past Year.

Hi, My vision has changed rapidly over the past year. I went from -.75 in my right eye and 0 in the left, to -1.5 in the right and -.75 in the left. I have been trying different contacts and cannot seem to adjust to them. My question is: If the Dr. reduces the prescription amount in either one eye (ex bringing the left eye script up to -.25, and the left to -1 instead of -1.5 so I can read better, will my eyes be straining and likely continue to get worse over time? I tried the multifocal lens over the past two days but my eyes felt like they were on espresso all day...felt too strong. The dr gave me a add power of 2 in both eyes which seems high to me. And last question is: If my dominant eye is the left eye, should that prescription be the one that should be increased (ex -.75 is my script in my left eye, would making it -.25 instead be a good idea). Thanks
