Hi. Nine Days Ago I Stabbed My Index Finger On

Hi. Nine days ago I stabbed my index finger on my left hand with a sharp pair of scissors. There was a little blood but not gushing. It was extremely painful. It swelled up a little and 3 days later it was numb. It still is numb and if I move it certain ways (lifting things etc) it sends horrible pain through my finger. My question is do I need to see a doctor or will it heal with time? Also would wearing a splint help? Thank you
