Hi! Was Taken Off Metformin 8/11 (started 6/1). But, Still

Hi! Was taken off metformin 8/11 (started 6/1). But, still have pain - tho it is less frequent and less severe. It was a 'eye-crosser' and like labor pains at times. I would / do get nauseous at same time, tho not vomiting.
Pain was many times when I sat from anus 'up through center' of pelvis. Felt like bowels were tight; not passing stools too well. Then when I passed more difficult stools, later ones were way more loose. Sometimes like a 90 degree plumbing pipe (an 'ell'). I have diverticula.
Well the pain isn't totally subsiding. I don't like to eat: because of blood sugars and second because of 'gas' which starts almost immediately after I eat. What do you think? On an TV ER program, I saw reference to calcification of abdominal blood vessels and to oxygen not getting delivered to intestines because of hernias.
