Hi, About Two Months Ago I Discovered What Feels Like

Hi, about two months ago I discovered what feels like webbing or string above my soft palette in my left nasal passage.
I visited my GP who assured me they are nothing more then mucus strands but they are still there today and only on the left side, also a swelling has developed on the same side.
I'm concerned this may be some kind of cancer.
