Hi, Am Pregnant 24w7d, Yesterday I Had Scan To Check

Hi, am pregnant 24w7d, yesterday I had scan to check cervix length, the result said it's too short 4mm even I have stitch on cervix already . The nurse checked by speculum and swapped the cervix , there no sign of labor. She told me to go home , rest and waiting for next week let see what happen.
I lost 3 babes before, I am so worries this time pregnancy. I 'd like to ask: what "rest" actually means?can I go toilet or shower or even go around my house ?
And what happen to the cervix if babe goes down and there is the stitch , am I going cramping ? Or the babe won't go down until the stitch is removed.
WhAt can I do if cramping ? Can I take pain killer ? Or do something to stop cramping?
