Hi, Can You Assist Me? I Have A Sharp Piercing

Hi, can you assist me? I have a sharp piercing pain on the right hand side just below my breast. I have had this pain for years and it has gotten to the point where I can't cry or get emotional because then I wil feel the pain really bad. It feels like I am continuously getting stabbed. I have been for an abdominal ultrasound to check for gall stones and found nothing. My Dr is now suggesting it could be irritable bowl syndrome and has prescribed anti depressants and other meds such as diazepam, hypospasm and Fluoxetine.

Kindly advise whether his diagnosis could be wrong as the pain has persisted for years and the loose stools only occurred a month ago
