Hi doc, to start off, my son started speech therapy more than 3 months ago at 25 months because we mainly speak to him in a foreign language, and he was so active, doesnt liste, doesnt make eye contact, just keep on exploring the area and playing. Doesnt even listen to the therapists. So the agency referred us to go to regional center and have us evaluated and started on child developmental therapists. So in a month he improved drastically and even verbalized by the therapist for the improvements my son made and we also noticed the improvement. After a week that the therapist told us about the improvement, then she told us that my son has a lot of characteristics of autism which shocked us. My son from noneye contact to making eye contact not consistently but he does more now but i encourage him to do so, to following simple instructions, playing with other kids but cannot really interact that much due to speech barrier, he can identify some objects and say it, not really pointing on what he needs but expresses it by pulling or showing what he wants mostly with play, he somewhat keeps repeating some words or some sounds that we taught him or he heard of, still so hyper that sometimes doesnt pay attention, he stops when his name is called but sometimes he doesnt when he is preoccupied. I need some help, i need some advice pls. We are so worried now from what the therapists said and showed us with the handouts which made us very concerned. His last pediatrician visit was at 24 months, but he never discussed with us which relates to autism that he saw from our son. Thank you very much
