Hi Doctor, I Just Got All My Wisdom Teeth Pulled

Hi doctor, I just got all my wisdom teeth pulled plus one molar. It has been 4 and a half days sense they have been pulled. I am very afraid of dry socket and have been really trying to limit smoking cigs while in recovery. Today I decided to try a substitute instead of risking popping out the clot by dragging on the cig. My question is, is it ok to use nicotine gum 4 to 5 days after a tooth extraction of 5 teeth (it was a generally easy extraction and none of the extraction sites required stitches)
