Hi I Am 55 And Suffering From Dry Eyes N

Hi i am 55 and suffering from dry eyes n blocked tearduct ,i also have difficulty in opening my eyes in the morning when i wake up n i have to use my fingers to aid it , throughout the day is fine . I went for an eye check up and vision is 6/6, doctor reccomend surgery for the blocked tearduct but i am quite sceptical about it ..pls advise me
