Hi, I Am A. 43 Year Old Female. My Last

Hi, i am a. 43 year old female. My last period began on February 9th and ended on. February 15th. It was normal. On Tuesday Feb 23rd I had sex with my husband and my period started again on Wednesday February 24. It progressively got heavier and I awoke in a pool of blood on Saturday morning. I went to the er and was told it would be about 11 hours before I would see a doctor. I bought a home pregnancy test but it came back negative. The cramps have subsided but I am concerned. The earliest my gynaecologist can see me is Thursday March 3rd. Is this ok?
