Hi I Recently Took Out My Infected Navel Piercing And

Hi i recently took out my infected navel piercing and today (3 weeks later) its still rather pussy and swollen. There was a small worm like thing sticking out of the bottom. I got it out and it was hard like a fingernail or something. There is still something else stuck in there that hurts terribly when i attempt to pull it out. What can i do? What could it be?
