Hi, I Was Advised By My Ob-gyne To Take Althea

Hi, i was advised by my ob-gyne to take althea pill because i'm polycystic. After consuming 1 pack of althea my period came at 4th day free pill days, i had prolonged period for almost 8days, then my doctor advised me to take 4 althea pills a day until i consumed all 21tabs, since i only have 13tabs left.. i need to take the said prescriptions just to stop the bleeding temporarily. is it okay to take 4pills a day?what will be the effect if i do that? thank you..
