Hi, i was recently denied a room in an Oxford (sober living house) 4 1/2 hours from my home. The reason being was that narcotics are not allowed. I tested positive for Benzodiazepines and Barbituates. I had advised the Oxford house people that my Dr. had decided to put me back on Xanax, Ativan, and Ambien due to severe panic attacks and anxiety. They were okay with that previous to my arrival due to my condition. I have no idea how I tested positive for Barbituates and asked to be re-tested but was denied. Then, I was told Benzodiazepines are narcotics, therefore, I was summarily sent home and was told to get a nearby hotel at great expense to me. (the Oxford house was located at Virginia Beach, a resort area and it was Labor Day.) My questions are how could I have tested positive for Barbituates, when I've only done them once years ago. I would also like to know what constitutes a Narcotic, because I was told a narcotic medication equates to a pain pill or some other opiate. Please advise. Thanks, K
