Hi Is There An Alternative To The Sticky Leads Used

Hi is there an alternative to the sticky leads used in moniter tests? as my skin peels off with them, My dr has been avoiding them but i have to have surgery and they will have to use them, is there something i can do to prep my skin so it doesnt peel off
