Hi, My 13 Yr Old Son Is A Type 1

Hi, my 13 yr old son is a type 1 diabetic, diagnosed a year ago. He keeps getting frequent headaches that last on ten minutes with sweats and flushed around his face, neck & shoulders. The headaches are so bad that he cant focus properly and cannot walk properly. They are in the front of the head right across the forehead. Ive spoken to his pediatrician about this but they keep saying its just migraines. He also has a burning in the back of his throat and whenever he eats or drinks he spits up saliva all the time? Should I be asking his doctor to do a head scan or do you think something else is going on? Id appreciate your help, thanks.
