Hi My 7 Year Old Daughter Stepped On A Prickle

Hi my 7 year old daughter stepped on a prickle by the lake yesterday. We pulled it out. About an hour later a raised area appeared similar to that left by a insect bite. We put anthisan olinment to on it. The next morning a raised welt had appeared and ran across the middle of the foot side to side. It has become itchy and painful. Thanks for any advice..
