Hi. My 7 Yr Old Daughter Has Been Taking Nasacort

Hi. my 7 yr old daughter has been taking Nasacort for about a week. The bottle says to call doctor right away if she develops "white patches" in mouth or throat. Is this because it is a symptom of the medicine? or is it because it makes you more susceptible to infection, as indicated by white patches. My daughter has a couple of tiny white "spots" in her throat on the left wall close to the little bell. However, both my wife and I have been coming down with sore throats.
