Hi, My 75 Year Old Mother Had 1 Massive Stroke

Hi, my 75 year old mother had 1 massive stroke to the right side in may and another massive stroke on the left side in July. She is in an altered awareness state. She doesn't respond to you or to pain but she will guard her arm that was affected with the first stroke and she will scoot position to get comfortable. She opens her eyes but will stare at the ceiling or the light. She constantly sticks out her tongue. All doctors say I should just make her comfortable. Any chance she could come out of this vegetative state? Any advice appreciated.
