Hi My Boyfriend Has Recently Found A Difference In His

Hi my boyfriend has recently found a difference in his penis, underneath on the right hand side it looks as though a piece is missing? and is not identical to the left hand side. This has only just change shape as it was never like this before? I have made a doctors appointment for him but was just wandering if you could give us any explanation as to why it has changed shape?
