Hi My Boyfriend Is Coughing Up Blood,a Lot Of Blood..he

Hi my boyfriend is coughing up blood,a lot of blood..he has other health conditions, his heart,& he has blood clots in both lungs,now I know it's not the clots coming up,. Whn he coughs up blood,it's a mouth full of thick bright red blood,does the color of the blood mean something,
P.S he just had some sort of nuclear test,where he had to breath in some thing ,,I'm not exactly sure, thank you stephanie
