Hi, My Dad Is Flying Out Of State In 7

Hi, my dad is flying out of state in 7 days. He has back problems that are really bothering him right now and wanted to get a cortisone shot in the next few days. Would he still be able to fly? Are there any side effects between getting the shot and flying? I've heard conflicting stories. Thank you!
