Hi My Dad Is In An Induced Coma At The

Hi my dad is in an induced coma at the moment . They are lowering his sedation level but he is getting distressed so the are putting his sedation level back up ...his eyes are open but he isn't responding what does this mean ? Can you help please? Thanks
