Hi, My Daughter Was In The Hospital For 2 Days

Hi, my daughter was in the hospital for 2 days and had an IV in her arm. She was very aware of the needle being in her arm and said it didn't feel right. Now that the needle is out. Her arm is very sore and swollen in that area and on her elbow. It's hard for her to move her arm at all. What could be wrong?
