Hi, My Five Year Old Has Said For The Last

Hi, my five year old has said for the last couple of days that his neck hurts and he's started moving his head to the side and chin up, to crack it! Is this something I should get checked out? I've been getting him to chin tuck and roll his head forward and down 1 vertebrae at a time to try and stretch it he says he can feel this in his back too.
