Hi my grandma had extensive PTB,Cavitary last Dec.2,2014 and her AFB smear was negative. She had 6 months antiTB treatment then the follow up xray after the 6 months treatment showed regression of the previously noted left sided opacities and cavitary lesion so they extended the treatment for 3 more months. Then, another chest xray was done after the 9th month treatment and the result is Fibroreticular opacities are seen within the left upper lobe. Bronchovascular markings are prominent. Heart is enlarged. aorta is calcified. Diaphragm, sinuses and bonythorax are intact. The Pulmo suggests to re-start antiTB treatment to category 2 antiTB eventhough grandma is already assymptomatic. Is the treatment plan correct?
