Hi My Grandmother Is 80 Years Old Her Hearing Is

Hi my grandmother is 80 years old her hearing is very bad. Recently in the last 2 weeks she is suffering alot with her left ear and we took her to a gp he treated her and said wax is stuck inside and recommended the use of warm olive oil and antibiotics. A day later pain was excruciating more like a poking effect inside the ear and going down her throat. We saw a doctor at the local hospital he says no wax inside very red an inflammation and asked we make an appointment with the Audiologist for a hearing aid. But the pain is still not being sorted....please help
