Hi, My Husband Had A Tonsillectomy In December. All Was

Hi, my husband had a tonsillectomy in December. All was fine and healed well. However, he noticed a small lump at the back of his throat at the right side just above/next to where his tonsil was. It was a little white and red. He went to the Gp who had no idea what it was and has referred him to ENT. He's worried it could indicate cancer? I looked in his throat and noticed some very small white pimple like bumps too. I'm v.worried now.
