Hi, My Left Jugular Vein Was Hurting Yesterday (I Had

Hi, my left jugular vein was hurting yesterday (I had my heavy purse strapped on that shoulder) and the veins in my left forearm and hand were bulging as if I were cutting off the blood flow. It happened several times, enough to cause me concern. Tonight, I think the same jugular was fluttering for a few seconds. Am I over reacting, or should I get this checked out? I am 41, I smoke and I have gall stones and a slightly enlarged liver right now.
