Hi My Mom Aje 73, Recent Did A Ballooning Abt

Hi my mom aje 73, recent did a ballooning abt 1 month plus. For the past 1 week plus her BP keep increasing but her diastolic range from 49-59. But her BP reading from 140-183. I brought her to GP n they have increase her BP pill from 1/2 to 1. Is this normal?
