Hi, My Mom Went For Endoscopy Today And They Found

Hi, my mom went for Endoscopy today and they found a small lump in her food pipe. The doctor has sent the sample for biopsy. They told it would take a couple of days to determine if its cancerous or not.
My question: Is there any other reason why there could be a lump in the food pipe other than cancer. I am really worried and its hard to wait for 2 days to know the status.
