Hi My Name Is Zina , Last Week I Had

Hi my name is zina , last week I had a survic ultrasound. Today I got the result from my gynecologist telling me that I have a small polyps in my survic. She did a biopsy and she told me to wait until next week for the result. My question is can a polyp be a cancer. She suggested to do a surgery. But the problem I am a very stressful and anxious person that I am afraid of general anesthesia. Is there another way to remove the polyp.maybe local anesthesia. Or is it possible to leave it if it's benign. Thank you doctor very much for your answer it's very important for me. Sorry for my English writing.
