Hi, On Tuesday I Went On A Short Run. Granted

Hi, on Tuesday I went on a short run. Granted I'm not in that good a shape. It was about 1/4 of a mile. When I got done I was coughing continuously. It felt like I something caught in my throat/chest. As time went by the cough went away along with the throat feeling. Overall it was about 3 hours until the cough went away.
What was it?
