Hi, Our 18 Year Old Son, Who Is Supposed To

Hi, our 18 year old son, who is supposed to return to college tonight, was diagnosed with mono earlier this week. (I think he has had it for three weeks.) He is developing a rash across his forehead but is not taking any antibiotics. Is this typical? He also has lost five pounds and has absolutely no appetite. What do you suggest along those lines? Finally, how many hours of sleep/night do you think is desireable?
