Hi, So I've Been To A Gum Clinic And I

Hi, so I've been to a gum clinic and I haven't got the full results yet but the doctor thinks I have gonorrhoea as the bacteria was present when I was examined.
I know I was totally sti free before I recently started having sex as I have got checked out before.
I just want to know was it my fault that I contracted an sti.
I have had a lot of sexual partners, who were mostly one night stands and it was unprotected. i just want to know that if they were free from sti's and I was to, was the sti contracted from having many sexual partners in a short space of time? Or did one of them pass it on to me?
