Hi There, I Had A Routine Uterine Ultrasound For Gestational
Hi there,
I had a routine uterine ultrasound for gestational dates, 8 weeks 6 days, and the tech focused a lot on my kidneys, primarily the left. I was later told by my midwife that there is a shadow on my left kidney and that the next recommended step is an MRI in post partum. I had an ectopic pregnancy in june and they had also focused on my kidneys a lot but with the urgency of the ectopic I was never told anything about my kidneys.
My urine is normal, I have not had any urine specimen tests and I have absolutely no pain or symptoms.
What are the likely causes of a shadow on the left kidney during an ultrasound? And is there anything I should be specifically requesting testing for? etc
