Hi there. I just got my nails done (artificial nails) on Friday morning (it is now tuesday evening, 4 days later) and during the treatment I felt a little pain from the "sander" used by the nail technician at the time. By Friday night I noticed a little pain, but couldn't see anything visibly wrong so I just brushed it off. Saturday morning I woke up with a slightly throbbing finger and a small visible blister. Again I brushed it off as no big deal, but by Saturday evening it was pounding throbbing with a huge blister wrapping from the middle of my cuticle, up around the right side of my finger/fingernail. The blister popped on its own later in the evening, but re-filled and popped again several more times before I went to bed. Sunday morning I woke up in terrible pain from my fingertip to nearly the third knuckle (where it is attached to my hand). I immediately went to the store for some hydrogen peroxide and kept it as clean as possible and a good amount of the pain and swelling subsided. By Sunday afternoon I began developing raised, red rashes that came and went all over my body (started on my hands/arms, then m back, then my legs, chest, and neck). I continued to keep it clean. I got married on Saturday, so even though I have felt extreme fatigue since Friday (before even) i figured it was just stress being released and me finally being able to relax that explained the rash and why I was so tired....The rash went away yesterday, but is back again today today (Tuesday). I finally went in to a clinic to have my finger looked at. I had a 100.4 F fever and a resting pulse rate of 98. She did not take my blood pressure. The nurse said I definitely had an infection and prescribed a 7 day course of Sulfameth/Trimethoprim 800/160MG tabs. I feel extremely exhausted and have a headache. I am worried I may have developed Sepsis. My question is whether or not you think it could be sepsis, and if so whether or not the antibiotics I was already prescribed will be enough to fight it. I have taken only one dose so far, but will take my second tonight.
