Hi there,
I just got out of the hospital after being treated for major infection in my body. It started with pelvic pain, clouded urine and urges to go to the bathroom. I went to a clinic and I was told I have UTI. The dr gave me antibiotics without even testing my urine. The pain worsened after 3 days and got major headache so I went back, had a pelvic exam and I was told I have PID put me on Doxycycline. The next day I went to the emergency room with stroke like symptoms and got admitted in the hospital. After a series of investigations the stroke got ruled out. The WBC was 23000 and the urine analysis showed Candida Glabrata Infection. Put me on 2 different types of antibiotics and Fluconazole. The pelvic pain and the headache got so bad that I couldn't cope anymore so they put me on morphine and gave me a shot of steroids. That just took the edge off but the pain didn't go away. They were about to release me when WBC came back 18000. A CT scan was ordered for abdomen and pelvic area but everything came back ok. They tried all kinds of blood tests, urine, stool and even blood culture and everything came back ok. After 8 days in the hospital I got out I'm still in pain and still taking antibiotics (doxycycline) and Fluconazole. I have new symptoms that they basically ignored me when I mentioned them (rash on my hands, sore throat and white tongue with red bumps, cloudy mind).
I looked up Candida Glabrata and it seams like it's not as common as others and has resistance to Fluconazole.
My question... Do the antibiotics work together with Fluconazole or against? Should I keep taking all these medicines and get some probiotics? I'm desperate for some advice on what to do...
Thank you
Adriana
