Hi there, I was recently experiencing sharp pains in my pelvic area. I also felt pressure in my that same area. This pain lasted 2 weeks and subsided considerably 2 days ago. I have now been experiencing a new pain, sharp stitch-like pains on the right side (feels like its under my ribs and radiates through to my shoulder and top of the chest. The lower pelvic area pains are now starting to kick in again also. It hurts when I breath deeply so I am taking shallow breaths at present to avoid the stitch-like pains. It hurts when I laugh, hiccup or belch. There is a nagging burning sensation in my upper right abdomen. Sleeping is a problem as I can only seem to get comfortable in one certain position.

I have had a copper IUD for 9 years. I exercise (strength training with weights) twice a week. I have taken 3 codine tablets in the last week to relieve the pain and to get some sleep.

Any assistance with my symptoms would be great. I generally don't like fussing about my wee health pain niggles so before I go to the Drs I thought I'd get some advice on here. Thanks :-)
