Hi There, So A Little Bit About Me, I Am

Hi there,

So a little bit about me, I am 24 years old, 170cm. Approximately 18-24 months ago my period became irregular (prior to this is was like clockwork, when i didnt miss it using the pill), I had a pelvic ultrasound for POCS which I was told came back normal, the Dr at the time suggested I change pills and it will fix itself. It didn't, I changed back to my original pill and it did, temporarily. When I was much younger I used to be overweight. For the past 6 years I have been 30kg lighter and have a very healthy lifestyle. However, in the last 12 months things have not been going my way I have slowly gained 4-6 kg from 62kg to 66-68kg for NO REASON AT ALL!!. During this time I have gone from someone who never ever gets sick, to getting sick every few months (flu symptoms), someone who has an abundance of energy with perfect sleep, to currently someone who has no energy and is exhausted at the end of every day but cannot go to sleep, I get very regular headaches, have constant bloating/ general lower abdominal pain.
My current exercise plan is religious and is never ever skipped, as has been like this for approximately 10-12months (prior to this current plan I was also very active), this is;
A 4km every morning Monday-Friday,
4 afternoons a week I attend the gym 2 afternoons consist of cardio classes, and 2 afternoons are Strength/ resistance and a small amount of cardio.
In addition to this I play soccer on a weekend and take my beautiful puppies for a 4km walk 1-2 times per week.
My diet is just as religious and incredibly strict as has been exactly this for the past 4 years with little changes to the food:
Each Monday I fast for the entire day (lately it has been Monday and Tuesday because I am at my wits end with trying to lose this weight- i have been doing this for approximately 2 months now).
Tuesday/Wednesday- Friday and Sundays consists of a diet of 3500kj-4000kj per day.
Breakfast is 3 eggs or 30grams almonds
Snack- all natural nut and almost sugar free muesli bar and 1 kiwi fruit
Lunch- 2 cans of plain tuna in spring water, 1 bag of frozen broccoli, beans and snow peas, and 1 small serving of roasted broadens
Snack – small bag of popcorn and a kiwi fruit
Dinner- 1 cup baby spinach leaves and 7 green beans.
Saturday is the only day of the week I enjoy as its no exercise, and despite the enormous guilt and stress I experience- it’s a cheat meal day and ill have something tasty for dinner, this can range from steak and veggies, pasta to pizza or Indian. I can guarantee that the next morning every single time I do this I wake up 4kg heavier and spend the entire week trying to lose that 4kg to get back to 66kg.

My goals is 60-62kg and I was so close 12 months ago when I weight 62kg, nothing at all works and out of desperation for some answer and help with the other symptoms I went to the doctor to get my thyroid levels checked again ( i have half of a thyroid due to a benign cyst, i currently dont need medication) my levels are normal. During that consultation I was sent for multiple test.
These tests have shown I have low Estrogen, I also had a pelvic scan which has shown strong possibility for poly cystic ovaries. I have since been sent to a gynaecologist but I can’t get I until the 3rd May, I also requested a referral back to my Endocrinologist However I can’t get in to see you until the 25th July.
I’m trying to be very proactive and trying to naturally increase my estrogen, or basically just do something to help myself until I can see them. Basically I’ve done HEAPS of reading, none of it helpful in necessarily answering any questions, just leaving me with a whole lot more.
So whilst I wait I was hoping maybe you could answer a few of them for me, as I’m going insane and losing hope that all this exercising and strict diet has no positive results because of my stupid hormones.

I’ve read heaps of things on soy products and how this helps increase estrogen levels, however I’ve also read heaps that say it’s really bad for people with POCS.
Q So should I start consuming soy products, or avoid it??
I’ve also read about Chastberry vitex which some places say that it helps with estrogen and others that it doesn't help.
Q So is this also something that I should start consuming or something I should avoid?
I’ve read heaps on insulin resistance and that having a huge impact on why it’s so hard to lose weight for people with POCS and so easy to gain weight (literally my life!!). I read that myo-inositol is helpful for this. I haven’t had my insulin levels tested ( I asked by the dr said no, I don’t know why!) but my glucose levels were ‘normal’
Q is there any harm in me trying myo-inositol whilst I wait to see you and the gynaecologist to see if it works for me? And is there any negative affects it could have on my estrogen levels?

If you have any other advice on what I can do in the meantime, before the appointments that will help increase my estrogen without making potential POCS worse, especially if you have suggestions in regards weight loss/ management it would be very much appreciated.

Sorry for such a long winded email, I’m desperate!!!
