Hi There After My Partner Injected Meth Into The Top

Hi there after my partner injected meth into the top of his hand and missed he experienced swelling he then went out drinking last night and over night the swelling has gotten worse do you have any suggestions on what to do? Should he put ice on it to bring swelling down? Would the alcohol be the reason behind the swelling worsening over night?
